Hollywood, Florida History, Art & Culture

A coastal haven between Fort Lauderdale and Miami, Hollywood, Florida is a beautiful and historic destination that has enchanted travelers since the 1920s. Developed in 1925 by Joseph W. Young, Jr., who envisioned a magical vacation destination, Hollywood boasts historic landmarks, beautiful architecture, white sand beaches and a historic downtown arts and entertainment district. True to his vision, the City of Hollywood retains its historic charm with wide boulevards, parks and harmonious architecture derived from California's Moorish and Spanish-eclectic styles.

Hollywood Arcade - Ramada Executive Center -

With its origins dating back to 1926, the Hollywood Arcade (now known as the Ramada Executive Center) was a staple historic landmark in downtown Hollywood. The arcade style of architecture was quite popular during the 1920s and 1930s, and there is no better example than 1926 Hollywood Boulevard. While the site has been greatly altered since, the owners still have historical photographs and other interesting pieces of history hanging in the Ramada Executive Center today.
