If you are looking for one of Florida's biggest parties of the year, don't miss the 31st annual Miami Broward Carnival that takes place every Columbus Day weekend. On October 11, 2015 from 11 am to 11 pm, Miami comes alive with the annual Carnival celebration. Come join in the lively scene as the sights and sounds of the Caribbean fill the air with steel drums, elaborate costumes, and live marching bands. And get ready to dance the day away, because the festive parade brings the party to the streets of Miami.
Over 18,000 masqueraders line the route while 20 live bands and DJs keep the fun going. It's a kaleidoscope of colors with spectacular costumes, plenty of beads and incredible hip-shaking dance moves. Over 50 food and beverage vendors will line the route offering unique tastes of the Caribbean from rum and beer to specialty foods from across the islands including jerk chicken and spicy curries. There is also a highly coveted band competition where each group takes to the Main Stage to show off their talents
Other events include the King and Queen coronation on October 9 and the late-night official MBOC J'Ouvert party on October 10.
