About This Event
The American Legion Post #43 located at 399 S. Krome Avenue is going to be the place to be from 4:00pm-8:00pm that day. The Post will be hosting the event in their main hall and there will also be music, games, and other activities taking place outside.
This will hopefully be the start of a new community tradition that will turn into much more than some of the freshest Florida lobster tails boiled up by the young Scouts and their parents; it will be a time for families to gather and enjoy each other's company. What will make this a lasting tradition?
Imagine 100's of people chowing down on freshly boiled native Florida lobster tails, served up with a salad and sides. Don't worry there will be plenty of room for everyone and they won't run out of tails.
Imagine a group of tables (almost) the size of the American Legion itself. Do you see the pies, cakes, and fruity treats made from fresh South Dade produce? What about the local vendors showcasing their products and their amazing talent for all of Homestead to enjoy in a family friendly environment? What a great way to bring to the community and businesses together.
Now imagine the groups of people that are gathering and meeting up, some of whom will leave and making new friends, realizing that they may only have an opportunity to see these people once a year at this new traditional event. And that just adds to the special feeling that this evening will send everyone home with.
In 2019, the Troop started with a pancake breakfast at the American Legion. The event was such a hit for the local community that they realized right away it had to grow into something bigger. Don't think you will just sit down to a lobster tail. The dinner also comes with 2 sides, a salad, a dinner roll, a beverage, and did we mention the desserts that would make your grandma proud?
In a hurry… have a kid's game to get to? No worries. You can get your dinner to go. City folks would probably pay half a month's rent for this seaside treat
