About This Event
The Freedom Walk is a walk of remembrance and support; it is an event that allows the community the opportunity to remember the victims of the September 11tth 2001 attacks on the Pentagon, the Twin Towers and flight 93 over Pennsylvania. It is also an opportunity for us to show our support to the first responders and many men and women in uniform, past and present, who protect our freedom.
Commemorative Corner that will exhibit photos, a timeline and historical data, a tribute to victims and memorabilia. A tribute honoring the victims with all the names will be displayed and more.
Field of Honor flags will be dedicated to active military, veterans and first responders. Individuals or businesses are encouraged to sponsor a flag in memory of or in honor of a hero (or a unit) who is serving or has served our country and our community, either in the military or as a first responder. Each flag is a $35 donation and comes with a certificate of participation, the identification medallion and the flag itself. Flags will be available for pickup after October 10th. There will be a short program to reflect on 9/11 preceding the walk. After the walk lunch will be served and there will be a celebration of freedom.
